Finance Manager - New Business
The Finance Manager for New Business is responsible for providing financial support and counsel to the New Products Marketing and Acquisition, Cooperation, Divestiture and Licensing (ACDL) groups. The individual will provide the financial development and assessment of New Products and ACDL projects in terms of analysis and financial evaluation, long-range planning, annual operating budget, forecasts and strategic fit. Also, this position serves as U.S. financial liaison with Global R&D Controlling.Major Tasks:Participate as financial team member in all New Business projects including ACDL and New Products. Provide necessary financial support including project financial valuation, income statement and profitability analysis, corporate reporting, and financial support of outside investment consultants.Provide financial analysis and apply strict financial rigor and validation to proposed projects and related financial scenarios in order to ensure consistency and reasonableness when assessing business-wide priorities in accordance with proper accounting and corporate policies and guidelines.Project Management Coordinator – This position will be responsible for managing the overall financial responsibilities for the PMP process for New Business and existing brand new product projects. This includes coordination with Brand finance managers and project leaders in assuring achievement of timelines, reporting requirements, consistent application of the project valuation model, consistent compliance with PMP process policies and guidelines, and ongoing revisions to the financials as the business assumptions change during the life of the project. Monitor ongoing performance against financial plans. Identify variations and develop recommendations for corrective actions and advise senior management. BS/BA Finance or Accounting required - MBA/CPA preferred. Solid financial and controlling experience, preferably within Bayer, with 7-10 years in Finance/Accounting. Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, multiple functions and countries. Strong problem-solving skills and judgement. Ability to work effectively in different teams. Good knowledge of the different processes in the Business Group, particularly marketing, R&D and ACDL. Knowledge of the internal reporting requirements. Knowledge of developing and implementing financial valuation tools. Previous global/international controlling experience is a plus. Good working knowledge of PC systems. Good organizational skills..
