The Facilities Technician III will provide facilities support for building and employee requests. Maintenance activities include HVAC, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting, both routine and scheduled. This individual will handle the daily general inspection of building and grounds, including common areas, restrooms, dumpster areas, etc. This individual will be responsible for general maintenance activities including: light bulb replacement, ceiling tile replacement, office installs (white boards, pictures, etc.). The Facilities Technician III will perform electrical work including fluorescent ballast replacement, installing and troubleshooting of electrical circuits, etc. This individual will conduct regularly scheduled inspections such as, emergency shower and eyewash, fire inspection tours with the landlord, and testing of emergency lighting. The Facilities Technician III will respond to heating/air conditioning requests for offices, conference rooms, and open areas and troubleshoot any immediate HVAC system issues. This individual will have furniture responsibilities including cube reconfiguration, keyboard tray installs, and office furniture moves. The Facilities Technician III will maintain appropriate furniture inventories, working with Human Resources and line management to understand and prepare for projected headcount increases and take occasional trips to OSH, Home Depot, Grainger, etc. for supplies. This individual will be responsible for understanding the requests of a customer, designing a plan based on the needs, and seeing it through to completion. This individual will assure that Conor facilities are in compliance with applicable safety practices and laws. This individual will also manage projects to interact directly and coordinate with vendors and associates. The Facilities Technician III will perform complex process/product tests and audits for conformity to quality and/or regulatory requirements and performs selfinspections of their own work. This individual will maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow standard operating procedures for all tasks, when applicable. The Facilities Technician III will complete all appropriate safety and environmental hazard training and is responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance. A minimum of an Associates Degree or equivalent (Trade School) and 5 years of work related experience (maintenance trade, formal apprenticeships and/or on-the-job training) OR a High School Diploma and 7 years of work related experience is required. Experience troubleshooting HVAC is required. Previous experience in the Medical Device Industry is preferred. This candidate must have a working knowledge of shop math and the ability to utilize measuring instruments such as voltmeter, amp meter and refrigerant gauges. Working knowledge of general electrical, HVAC, and related activities is required. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Microsoft Excel experience is preferred. The ability to safely lift 50 pounds is required. The ability to read, write, communicate and understand in English is required. Experience working with vendors is preferred. Experience with dehumidification is also preferred. This candidate will be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing priorities. This candidate will have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to understand and communicate project needs. Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule and respond to off-hour emergencies as needed. This candidate must be willing and able to work in Menlo Park, CA.
