Position Overview
The Facilities Supervisor will develop and oversee planning, design, construction, repair and maintenance of six or more regulatory compliant life science facilities, including equipment, machinery and physical plant. The successful candidate will develop annual plans and budget, outlining key expansions, modifications and preventative maintenance. In addition to supervising, assigning, and reviewing the work of staff and vendors, the selected individual will ensure facility compliance with all manufacturer specifications as well as oversee shut down procedures as necessary. Further, the Facilities Supervisor will develop and provide metric reports to management on the cost effectiveness and efficiency of facilities services as well as provide periodic communications to all customers on the status of facilities department activities.
Education Requirements
B.A./B.S. in a related discipline or the equivalent knowledge and experience is required. Certification in one or more relevant maintenance trades is strongly preferred.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of relevant facilities management experience including staff supervision, budget accountability, Continuous Process Improvement (Six Sigma), Total Preventative Maintenance, and project management experience, is required. Background in life science facilities maintenance is strongly preferred. Thorough working knowledge of all mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration and building control management systems as well as relevant building codes and related regulatory requirements is necessary. Creative problem solving, customer service, planning and influence skills are a must. Additionally, the selected candidate must have extensive experience reading blue prints, drawings and systems specifications as well as a strong background in new facility/plant construction and start up.
