Talecris Biotherapeutics has an opportunity at our Research Triangle Park, NC facility for an Executive Associate - Legal.Acts as the assistant to Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, performing advanced, diversified and confidential secretarial and administrative duties requiring broad and comprehensive experience, competencies and knowledge of organization policies and practices while exercising discretion in handling confidential, sensitive and timely information. Will prepare meeting agendas, memos, and correspondence with legal content; making travel arrangements; preparing expense reports; completing a variety of non-routine assignments; coordinating busy and shifting office calendars including scheduling and coordinating meetings and/or conferences, and attending meetings for purpose of recording, preparing and distributing minutes and reports; processing a considerable amount of confidential and sensitive information in support of administrative activities, serve as the primary liaison for executive and other senior management personnel. Will assist in developing administrative goals and priorities for departmental long-range strategic planning; communicating, implementing, interpreting and revising policies and procedures as appropriate; facilitating process improvement analysis for work unit; maintaining knowledge of technology. Will receive and initiate extensive, regular outside contacts on behalf of the executive with executives and boards of directors of other companies, regulators, elected representatives, charitable boards, and customers. Will assist in preparation of materials for distribution to the board of directors. Will participate in budget management, develop and monitor contracts with outside vendors/consultants; analyze data trends and advise executives of significant changes or discrepancies (e.g. budget). This will include routing of invoices for approval, tracking of invoices, entering service requisitions into SAP, reconciling invoice payments with law firms and other supplies, and working directly with Finance staff to coordinate monthly accruals with payments processed. Will act as a notary for the department and company. Requires specialized administrative support experience, advanced arithmetic skills and computer skills, the ability to use automated office equipment, read and decipher difficult instructions, and develop and maintain accurate documentation and records. Must have excellent customer service skills; ability to build rapport with internal and external customers and ability to prioritize workload. Must possess teamwork, attendance, professionalism, poise and excellent phone demeanor. Will act as project lead for projects such as company picnic, United Way, Angel Tree, Patient Day, Family Picnic, Turkey Handout, etc. Experience with SAP requisitions and approvals preferred. Legal experience preferred. Within three months of accepting position, must obtain Notary certificate.
