Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist needed!!

Our client, a suburban Maryland biotech company which specializes in vaccines and biotherapeutics, is searching for an EH&S Specialist to join their Regulatory Team. The ideal candidate will have several years of biotech industry experience out of a laboratory or manufacturing/production environment and have prior experience with chemical and biological safety.Primary duties include:  Assists in the development, planning and implementation of EHS programs to ensure compliance with OSHA. CDC, USDOT and USEPA regulations.  Develops EHS policies and procedures, researches current standards, incorporates reviewer comments, submits final documents and assists in company-wide implementation of the policies.  Develops and conducts compliance EHS training programs, including emergency response, laboratory safety, hazardous waste management, radiation safety .  Conducts EHS audits and inspections of several facilities; prepares written reports of findings; assists in improvement strategies. Excellent verbal & written communication skills are required. You must be able to perform your assigned duties while wearing PPE, when necessary. A BS in safety, hygiene or a related field is preferred.Come work for a company that recognizes and rewards achievement.
