Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Engineer

Be part of the Environmental Health and Safety Group, supporting a growing contract development and manufacturing organization specializing in semi-solid, liquid dosage forms.
This location is expanding with capital projects in the sterile manufacturing area.
Job Description:
Continually assess the entire site regarding EHS compliance initiative and protocols.
Implement, author, train and audit all aspects of the manufacturing, lab, R & D, packaging and warehousing operations.
Reduce occupational injuries and workers’ compensation costs through proactive management and training.
Develop, implement and update facility wide environmental health and safety programs including waste water effluent compliance, workers compensation, hazard communication, MSDS management, lockout/tagout, air permitting compliance and reporting, hazardous/solid waste and material management, confined spaces, hearing and noise, etc.
Direct safety inspections and audits across all portions of operations and follow up corrective actions as required.
Incorporate EHS engineering principles into all new production equipment purchases and proactively review all proposed developmental site work for potential EHS impacts and mitigate to the extent possible.
Maintain, update and prepare site-wide environmental permits and safety databases.
Prepare documentation and report facility wide emissions to appropriate stakeholders and external agencies.
Direct and coordinate all aspects of DPT emergency response.
Candidate Must Have:
·BS in Environmental health policy, biology, epidemiology, toxicology, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or equivalent.
·Min. 2 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety in an industrial setting
·Some experience in the chemical, food, consumers or cosmetics Industry.
·Good communication skills including ability to write speeches and articles for publication.
·Excellent people, project, and computer skills.
Candidate Nice to Have:
Have an advanced degree, Professional Engineers’ license, and/or Certifications of proficiency in Occupational Health or Industrial Hygiene are desirable.Some experience with FDA, GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
