Embedded Software Engineer

Primary Job Function:
The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for the development of software embedded in a medical device for production release.
Responsibilities: Develops and documents software, test procedures and results per Design Controls Perform analysis and write engineering reports Review requirements, user manuals, design, and test protocols for accuracy, consistency, and concurrence Create Trace Matrix of test cases to requirements and design
Education:
Bachelor degree in engineering or computer science or equivalent degree
Required Experience: 2-8 years experience in software design, coding, and testing software systems Experience with real-time systems, embedded software development, micro-controllers, C,C++ Device driver development for memories, A/D’s, stepper motors, displays, or sensors
Desired Skills: State machines and object-oriented design methods Strong design and analytical skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Version management systems such as Subversion Software defect tracking systems such as Mantis or ClearQuest Software requirements documentation systems such as DOORS Communication mediums and protocols such as SPI, RS232, TCP/IP Detail oriented and strong work ethic Desire to build safety critical software
