Our customer is a global research-driven pharmaceutical company dedicated to putting patients first. They discover, develop, manufacture and market vaccines and medicines to address unmet medical needs. Description:  The Basic Research System department is seeking a technically savvy individual with a strong chemistry background as well as good written and oral communications skills to support drug discovery. The selected candidate will report administratively to the leader of the Project Management/Business Analysis & Innovation Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysis and quality control of chemical structure data in the proprietary Merck chemical structure databases.  He/she will facilitate and coordinate communications related to Merck proprietary chemical compound information to support new licensing deals, collaborations, acquisitions, litigations, and other projects. He/she will provide business analysis and testing support to RIS projects related to or involving chemical compound information.  In this capacity, the successful candidate will normally be a member of a project team, but may be required to work alone or act as project leader.   Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Registration of Merck proprietary chemical samples and related information. • Maintenance and quality control of chemical structure information in the Merck Chemical Information Database. • Maintenance of and adherence to Merck business standards for chemical information. • Facilitation and coordination of communications related to Merck chemical compounds to support new licensing deals, collaborations, acquisitions, litigations or other projects. • Provide chemistry related business analysis and testing support to projects related to or involving chemical compound information.Qualifications: • BS or MS in Chemistry with a strong Chemistry laboratory background in basic research (not manufacturing). • Must have extensive knowledge of stereochemistry. • Chemical synthesis background ideal.For immediate consideration please contact Colleen Tyler at colleen.tyler@yoh.com .
