Discovery Support Lab Assistant

Position description:
We are looking for a student or part-time contractor to work with a research team involved in poultry vaccine development and testing.  This position would be approximately 10-12 hours per week from September – December with potential for continuation into the Spring.  The co-op would assist in preparation of solutions and test materials, QC testing, microscopy, cell culture, serologic assays, egg incubation, virus production and titration and animal handling and sampling.
 
Qualifications desired:
Biology, zoology, microbiology, and animal or poultry science majors are encouraged to apply.  Willingness to learn and previous experience with microscopy, cell culture, serologic assays or virus titration helpful.  Training in animal handling is a plus.  Work with chickens is required in this position.

Experience:  0-5 years laboratory experience. Independent Research during college, summer employment, or Prior work 

Education:  BS in Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or related field
