Yoh has a contract opportunity for a Discovery Support Specialist to join our customer’s Cell Line Development Group in Chesterfield, MO.Description: • Responsible for developing stable mammalian cell lines and culture processes for recombinant monoclonal antibody production to supply early clinical trials • Responsibilities will be somewhat dependent on individual expertise and may include molecular biology, flow cytometry, culture medium optimization, and small scale bioreactor operations • Routine cell culture, maintaining lab supplies and equipment, and notebook and electronic documentation of study plans and resultsRequirements: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a biological discipline (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemical Engineering, or equivalent • Experience in laboratory research and mammalian cell culture is required • A good understanding of cell biology, including the recent scientific literature, and/or a working knowledge of current molecular biology are required • Should be organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently, and in a collaborative environment • The successful candidate will possess strong oral and written communication skills • Strong analytical and computer skills are also required • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to learn quickly are essential. Occasional evening and weekend work is requiredDesired Requirements: Experience with techniques and approaches to screen and select stable cell lines (eg.FACS), cell based assays, bioreactor operations, robotics, and/or transferring biologics processes to pilot plants or manufacturing environments is advantageous.Discover all that’s possible with Yoh Scientific.
