Director of Scientific Affairs

A small pharmaceutical company is seeking a person to fill the position of Director of Scientific Affairs. The company, located in a small Midwest town in Iowa, is a well-established and progressive manufacturer and marketer of nutritional and pharmaceutical products and employs approximately 80 people. Operations are currently certified for both animal and human products.The applicant must possess an MS or PhD degree in chemistry and have recent experience with FDA’s cGMP and GLP regulations and other relevant regulatory agencies. Applicant must have had experience in the pharmaceutical industry.The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and directing diagnostic procedures related to scientific activities, e.g., physical/chemical tests and operations related to the development, production and testing of pharmaceuticals and nutritional products. The Director of Scientific Affairs must understand project management programs and be able to write specific reports for submission to management and pharmaceutical regulatory agencies. The successful applicant must be goal-oriented, highly organized and be an effective and stimulative team builder. Applicant must be able to inspire, develop, and manage progressive work groups through consensus.
