Director of Human Resources
Kelly Scientific is seeking a talented individual to take on the role and responsibility of Director of Human Resources for a prominent South Bay (Mountain View) based biotech company. OVERVIEWResponsible for developing and implementing, strategic and operational Human Resources processes, systems and programs in support of company and annual operating plans. Directs the planning, development, implementation, administration and budgeting of all human resources programs in the functions of employment, compensation, employee relations, equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and training. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ' Carries out Human Resources management responsibilities such as hires, job assignments, termination recommendations, transfers, promotions, salary actions, and processes performance reviews on time. ' Develops and implements strategies to recruit and hire people with requisite skill sets and core competencies, consistent with Affirmative Action goals. Monitors conduct and relationships among the employees supervised to prevent discriminatory acts or comments ' Demonstrates an understanding of the key US regulations affecting the business and assures compliance with those regulations. Keeps abreast of regulations and assures that company processes and systems fulfill those regulatory requirements. ' Participates as a member of Senior Leadership Team in developing strategy, with emphasis on human resources implications. ' Recommends approaches and alternatives that address the structure/alignment of work units in the business. ' Exercises responsibility for employee training, development, and motivating supervised employees. ' Develops annual operating plan/SOPs and budget for the Human Resources Department, ensuring that expenditures in the fiscal year are within approved limits. ' Develops and implements strategies to recruit and hire people with requisite skill sets and core competencies, consistent with Affirmative Action goals. Monitors conduct and relationships among the employees supervised to prevent discriminatory acts or comments. ' Develops/administers and interprets Human Resources policies consistent with legal guidelines. ' Develops and implements training strategies and programs to improve management skills, team effectiveness, and safety requirements. ' Develops implements and administers recognition and reward programs, addressing base pay and variable compensation programs, in support of individual and team achievement. ' Develops communication strategies that address the Company's culture, plans and progress relative to its goals. ' Reviews and implements workman's compensation insurance. ' Responsible for implementing and maintaining a safety program in conjunction with the EH&S department. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE ' Minimum 10 years of professional-level HR experience, including at least 5 years in HR management, in medium to large corporations covering the broad range of HR generalist disciplines (i.e., employment, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, training and development, EEO/AA compliance, or equivalent combination of related education and experience. Prior experience working in a Life Sciences company is required ' Experience implementing or working with established postdoctoral fellowship programs is helpful.
