DIRECTOR, TECHNICAL ARCHITECT

 

Our client seeks a seasoned Technical Architect who will serve as the primary technical resource for Infrastructure & Operations. Responsibilities include - the architecture and design of IT infrastructure components, researching and implementing new technologies, training of technical staff, project management and technical escalation resolution

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research, architect and implement new processes and technologies to improve efficiency, quality and security of the I&O global service. (50%)
-Escalation / resolution point for most difficult technical issues.
-Perform root cause analysis as required to address operational incidents.
-Ensure effective identification and implementation of corrective and preventative actions. (10%)
-The candidate for this position should have or have the ability to perform to the technical level of IT Professionals having the following certifications; Microsoft Certified Architect: Infrastructure, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Product Specialist, Cisco CCIE, and HP Certified Professional. (25%).
-Project manage implementation of new or upgrade of current technologies (15%).
-Provide training to technical members of staff on current or future technologies (10%).

 

Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education: A BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related discipline, related technical certifications or relevant work experience.

Experience:
-Must have experience as solution architect and design team lead during research, planning and implementation phases of new technologies or the upgrade of existing technologies.
-Must have developed detailed design documents for implementation of new technology or upgrade of existing technologies.
-Must have designed and implemented a disaster recovery strategy.
-This position requires a minimum of ten years experience.
-Develops analytical and computational techniques and methodology for problem solving.
-Performs enterprise-wide strategic systems planning, business information planning, business and analysis.
-Performs process and data modeling in support of the planning and analysis efforts using both manual and automated tools; such as Integrated Computer-Aided Software Engineering tools.
-Applies reverse engineering and re-engineering disciplines to develop migration strategic and planning documents.
-Provides technical guidance in automated support tools.
-Of the ten years general experience, a minimum of seven years specialized experience is required in the following: demonstrated experience in managing the implementation of information engineering projects and experience in systems analysis, design and programming using relevant tools and methods.
-Demonstrated experience in the client/server environment.
-Proven managerial and supervisory skills.
-Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communications skills, including giving formal presentations to different audiences.
-Must demonstrate the ability to work independently or under only general direction.
