Director, Pension Funds - (Job Number: 0808724) DescriptionJohnson && Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Director, Pension Funds located in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The purpose of this position is to identify and research funding, expensing and investment opportunities consistent with the plans' and Company's financial objectives for domestic and certain foreign pension plans, and domestic savings plans. The candidate will be a member of a four person team and will work proactively with internal departments such as Worldwide Benefits, Savings Plan Administration, Legal and Finance, in addition to numerous outside vendors, when evaluating funding alternatives and investment implications. Total assets under management are $ 18.5 billion. Responsibilities include: research and recommend changes that will improve the performance of assets under management and their efficient administration; develop, recommend and assist in implementing sound policies on funding and accounting policy that best serve both long-term corporate and participant interests; analyze existing and potential manager styles; analyze the risk and return alternatives for use in long-term planning in conjunction with the funds' liabilities; evaluate vendors of pension fund services and recommend firms for appointment; develop investment strategies and manage investments for the Fixed Interest Fund savings plan option; manage complex investment and operational risks associated with overseeing a master trust that commingles defined benefit and defined contribution assets of multiple plans; oversee investment and funding activity of certain international plans, as assigned; interface with financial community to bring a high level of competence in the areas of investment analysis, pension negotiation and administration; and stay current on investment trends, attending conferences, communicating proactively with investment professionals and able to build a peer network. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or a related discipline is required. An MBA and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification is required. A minimum of five years of job related experience is required. An understanding of financial markets and/or investments is required. An understanding of public and private securities is preferred. Experience in analyzing a variety of asset classes and developing investment opportunities is required. Ability to demonstrate strong investment judgment and perspective as it relates to employee benefit funds is desired. A working knowledge of statistics and computerized applications as well as databases common to the investment community is preferred. An understanding of the fiduciary duties and legal environment in which employee benefit funds exist is preferred. The ability to travel domestic and international approximately 10% is required.
