Job Description Director, Operational Effectivess and PPI, SMD Position Summary: This Pittsburgh based position is responsible for developing the tools and methods required to make PPI a “way-of-life” within CCG, along with a focus on improving the policies, processes and procedures required for planning and execution within the Safety Market Division. Assists division management and the Corporate Operational Excellence (OE) council conducting training on the PPI methodology and tools to advance a continuous improvement culture within the division. Minimum Qualifications: · Requires college degree in business or a technical field· Extensive knowledge of quality theory and continuous improvement methodologies and tools · Strong experience in Lean MFG / Lean Business Practices with a proven track record that delivers results· A minimum of five years managerial and / or technical leadership role in a quality or engineering position· Accomplished written and oral communication skill.· Possess broad knowledge of organizational processes· Be willing and able to travel · Must work as an effective team member· Have excellent interpersonal, time management, decision-making and conflict management skills· Comfortable in conversing at all levels within the organization· Ability to multiplex tasks· A passion for leading improvement· Must maintain high ethical standards to support a professional business code of conduct Key Duties and Responsibilities: Ø In conjunction with the SMD’s PPI Steering Committee, develop, implement and lead PPI throughout the division. Conduct organizational training for the PPI methodology and tools to meet the needs of the division. Work with the Steering Committees of other divisions and Shared Services to identify ways to accelerate culture change in making PPI a “way-of-life”. Aggressively work to make PPI self-sustaining. Ø Provide leadership to coordinate and lead a division wide coordinated program. Participate as needed in specific projects across the division in support of the division’s strategic plan, AOP, and Goal Tree objectives. These projects will include efforts in any functional area in any of the division’s locations, as well as acquisition activity support. Ø Drive cross-functional, cross-departmental initiatives and process improvements in support of creating consistent and reliable employee and customer experiences. Ø Proliferate Lean Business Practices throughout all functional areas within the division. Create, implement, and monitor a training curriculum to advance learning on these lean practices and serve as a consulting resource to the implementation teams. Ø Serve as a conduit for best practice sharing. Upon request from either the Division Staff or Business Unit leaders search for best practices and provide information as to where they can go or whom they can contact to learn more about their specific request. Ø Serve as an extension of the corporate PPI organization to support and work company wide initiatives as necessary. Ø Interact with Safety Management Team on daily basis to achieve goals, improve process and change culture. Ø Positive role model of process driven activities within SMD and throughout CCG.
