Think What’s Possible.Provides leadership, strategic planning and support in the area of pharmaceutical new product development.Manages and develops staff by hiring, training, evaluating performance, defining and assign-ing responsibilities, providing opportunities for educational and career development. Improv-ing and assessing departmental policies and procedures to direct a team focused on provid-ing product development expertise fundamental to the achievement of company objectives.Plans, directs and coordinates sector NPD activities by establishing strategic and operational policies and goals, assigning responsibilities and accountabilities, managing team resources, coordinating customer needs and ensuring successful implementation, follow through and/or completion.Directs the implementation, maintenance and control of essential product development by working through direct reports, making well informed decisions, assigning priorities, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and application to ensure that company products align with marketing goals.Interacts with direct reports, department heads and VP R&D by supporting and responding to priorities, resolving issues, applying government regulations or laws to facilitate financial and operational issues and forecasts.Balances compliance, development, and reporting requirements to maximize profitability and meet strategic objectives of the business.Plans and coordinates departmental budget strategies and activities by setting objectives, monitoring policies and practices, making expenditure recommendations, allocating resources and operating within set targets to control costs and ensure successful departmental opera-tions.Participates in professional organizations, remains current in research, project management, data management technologies, pharmacology, medicine, biology/physiology, regulatory laws and emerging technology in animal medicine by interactions with leading scientists and regulatory authorities to maintain a competitive awareness.Qualifications? DVM/PhD or PhD degree in scientific discipline or equivalent experience with contract research and new product development.? Advanced knowledge and experience with all aspects of animal drug development including study design and basic bio-statistics, pharmacology, and formulations within a multi-national organization.? 10+ years of drug development experience.? Knowledge of principals, laws, regulations pertaining to veterinary product registrations.? Successful interaction with internal customers both in the US and internationally, veterinarians at universities, specialists, national and state veterinary association executives, contract personnel, and customers to facilitate company wide strategic objectives.BenefitsCompetitive benefits to include medical, dental, vision, 401K, LTD, STD and more.
