Job ID: MEC08-02 Position Title: Director, Government ProgramsWorking Location: MD, ColumbiaEmployment Status: Full-TimeRequired Experience: 10 yearsRequired Education: Bachelors DegreeTravel Required: NoJob Description:Responsible for overseeing and directing the activities related to international and domestic governments sales transactions, ensuring timely completion of all documents requiring legal review across the Meridian Medical Technologies( a division of King Pharmaceuticals, Inc.) Columbia, MD and St. Louis, MO sites, including bid preparation, contracts negotiations, administration and reporting. Will interact with customers, Legal Affair (King Corporate) and Compliance Departments in order to close transactions in a timely manner.Provide objective assessments of the company’s compliance to legislation governing the organization’s transactions and industry-specific regulations, including but not limited to International Trade compliance and contraction. The Director will also direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the organization’s practices remain observant to all pertinent local, state/province/county, and federal laws.The essential duties of this position include but are not limited to:• Responsible for the preparation of bids, quotes, funding documents in support of International and domestic sales. The preparation of financial/executive business summaries. Advise senior management of contractual rights and obligations.• Develops and establishes effective business contacts within the King organization for the purpose of advising Meridian of contractual obligations.• Responsible for the day-to-day management of Meridian’s compliance activities, including but not limited to, International Trade compliance, Regulatory compliance and DEA compliance as applicable to sales transaction. Supervises Contracts and Compliance Coordinator.• Interprets and/or implements policies, rules, or regulations; provides guidance to staff regarding contract administration, policies, and procedures; and resolves related issues and concerns.• Supervises and plans the work of others responsible for contracts and compliance coordination.• Prepares and presents reports by compiling, reviewing, and analyzing data and providing written and/or oral reports to management. This includes but is not limited to the Company’s Commercial Subcontracting Plan, Government Property Reporting, Domestic and International Contracts.Essential Skills:The position requires experience in commercial and government sales and contract administration in a compliance rich environment. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business management, accounting, finance, or other relevant field; Master’s Degree a plus. Experience and education may be substituted for one another, minimum of 10 years in the aggregate..
