Reporting to the Senior Vice President of R&D, the Director of Genetic Services is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the laboratory and its production, including the timely and effective completion of contracted genetic analysis services and managing scientists and research assistants.   The ideal candidate will provide critical guidance and expertise to ensure genetic services work is performed to customer satisfaction and to achieve revenue and gross margin goals.  This position works closely with the Sales department and directly with customers. 

 

In this position, you will: Optimize the workload and workflow to achieve laboratory production, service, and cost goals including 10 day turnaround time and 95% complianceHire, train, and manage all Genetic Services employeesBuild skill level and cross functional skill development in department Identify chemistries, platforms and, where appropriate, automation, for laboratory needs for extraction of archiveable DNA.Validate and implement platforms and protocolsMaintain and develop laboratory processes for processing proprietary assaysDevelop and execute department budget Develop pricing strategy and billing in conjunction with Finance for genotyping and other servicesManage transfer of research developed processes to Services departmentAssist in training sales staff

The successful candidate will have:8+ years services laboratory supervisory experienceCLIA, GLP, and/or GMP regulated experience a plusBA/BS degree in an appropriate scientific discipline, Masters or Ph.D. preferredExperience with high-throughput genotyping, MassARRAYâ„¢ experience a plusComputer fluency including MS Office, Project, and LIMS systems
