Delivery Driver

Position Summary

The Data Entry Technician performs data entry of new and refill prescription orders received from centers.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Monitors fax machines for incoming orders and input same into computer in a timely manner.

· Calculates and/or verifies the correct dosage based on the prescription.

· Enters new and refill orders and discontinues orders according to client specific criteria, into appropriate center profile.

· Admits new customer into pharmacy profiles.

· Enters drug credits into the computer system when applicable.

· Batches and prints pharmacy labels, forms, and delivery tickets.

· Directs all printed materials to the pharmacist.

· Maintains a working knowledge of the specific pharmacy area or responsibility.

o Identifies non-pharmacy items that require further processing and forwards to appropriate area (i.e., sales orders, IV orders, Med B orders, MAR orders, etc.).

o Provides research via computer as needed to track prescription orders.

· Completes file save operation in absence of data processing personnel.

· Courteously assists all customers, internal and external. Assists in answering telephones and provides excellent customer service on the telephone.

· Keeps the pharmacy clean and well organized; maintains a neat, clean and organized work place at all times to avoid contamination.

· All other duties as assigned.

 

Education, Qualifications & Skills

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Data entry experience is required.

· Pharmacy technician experience highly preferred.

· Knowledge of pharmacy computer system.

· Knowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numerals), brand and generic names of medications and general pharmacy terminology.

· Basic knowledge of insurance procedures.

· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

· Excellent customer service skills and ability to maintain composure on phone when handling customer calls.

· Ability to perform accurately and efficiently when imputing information.

· Intermediate typing/keyboarding skills.
