Covance is looking to hire a Manager with knowledge of general financial and management reporting processes, tools and infrastructure to serve as a Business Architect. Responsibilities: • Direct line manager for the FSA Data Analytics Specialist and the FSA Management Reporting Subject Matter Expert. • Manage the selection of the data warehouse and reporting tool set. • Track, manage and report on all thread related project management activities. • Lead weekly team meetings to review major planned activities, project status, ongoing/potential issues and risks. • Assign tasks to team members and manage team’s hours of work to correspond with budgeted work hours. • Ability to review project deliverables for completeness and quality, and compliance with established project standards • Serve as liaison to the business community to ensure that its needs are fully understood by the project team. • Support the design of Management Reporting system. • Define opportunities to create business value. • Identify and define high-level customer requirements. • Capture business issues and facilitate resolution. • Define the business solutions and structures needed to realize these opportunities. • Help define the performance goals and metrics for the proposed solution. • Review prototypes, proposed solutions and project scope to balance the needs of the business and the capabilities of the project team. • Work with Technical team to integrate Management Reporting system into existing infrastructure Principal Contacts • FSA Business Unit Extended Team Members. • FSA Core Team Members. • Executives across all Business Units.Travel Requirements:25 - 100% Overnight Travel – dependent upon home BU location. Experience Required:• Minimum 5 years demonstrated expertise within specialty area.• Good organizational and general leadership skills. • Broad understanding of existing business processes and knowledge of key requirements. • Knowledge of existing financial systems and processes. • Ability to understand, communicate and resolve business problems. • Good communication skills. • Ability to analyze and design business processes. • General knowledge of technology. • Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels of the organization. • Demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills using innovative thinking. • Strong planning, organizational and problem solving skills. • Demonstrated a high degree of initiative and ability to work collaboratively.• Proven track record of successful project completion.
