Data Integration Programmer Analyst
Responsibilities:The Programmer Analyst position will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Gentran Server for Windows, Gentran Integration Suite (GIS) EDI application environment (which integrates with SAP and other legacy systems) and support the onboarding of new trading partners. This position is responsible for developing and delivering quality software products that are fully documented and tested in compliance with the Solutions Development Lifecycle process. He/she will support the ongoing integration of B2B/EDI technology with various business systems and support onboarding new trading partners to the EDI/EC program. The candidate will provide production support for the EDI gateway. He/she will develop, test, document, maintain and support EDI translation maps and monitor inbound and outbound EDI transactions and associated error notification and logs, troubleshoot issues and resolve them in a timely basis. This position will work with Sterling Commerce's technical support to troubleshoot issues with the Gentran/GIS application and VAN, as well as work with the trading partners' EDI contacts on setting up new transactions and troubleshooting issues. He/she will collaborate with other Programmer Analysts of downstream systems that integrate with EDI or use EDI transaction data. The incumbent will define and document functional specifications, application detailed design and test procedures. This position will conduct formal design and code reviews, as well as code, unit test and deploy solutions. He/she will evaluate alternative approaches to solving problems and provide technical support and solve problems for application software. Requirements:The incumbent must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Systems. A minimum of five years of experience in technical implementation of B2B Integration with a focus on EDI using Gentran Server for Windows and GIS is required, with a minimum of three years of experience using Gentran Server for Windows and GIS. The candidate must have strong hands-on experience developing EDI maps in Gentran Server for Windows and GIS involving transaction sets in the Order to Cash cycle (850, 855, 856, 810, etc.), Inventory management and charge backs. The applicant must have strong knowledge of the Business Processes in GIS and strong Oracle DB experience. The ability to research, identify and resolve EDI technical problems within needed time frames is required. The incumbent must have prior experience with communication options VANS (value-added networks) and FTP, AS2, etc. Knowledge of B2B Integration Standards (X12, XML, etc.) is required. The candidate must have experience in working with trading/business partners to onboard them to EDI and to research and resolve problems. Experience working in all the phases of the Software Development Life Cycle is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to produce clearly written, well-organized business requirements and technical design documentation are essential to the success of this role. The applicant must have excellent presentation and meeting facilitation skills. The candidate must have proven skills in relationship building, customer-focus, decision-making and accountability. Experience with Order and Inventory management applications is a plus. An understanding of J2EE technologies, including Java, JSP, JDBC, EJB, JMS and Servlet technologies is desirable, as well as experience and working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and XML/XSLT. The ideal candidate will have work experience with programming, packaging and deploying web/enterprise applications with BEA's WebLogic Application server. Knowledge of using standard programming methodologies and tools, such as Eclipse and JBuilder is desirable. Integration experience with web methods is a plus, as well as development experience in pharma, bio or commercial applications.
