DIRECTOR OF MANUFACTURING
Enzon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of important medicines for patients with cancer and other life-threatening conditions. Enzon has a portfolio of four marketed products, Oncaspar®, DepoCyt®, Abelcet® and Adagen®. The Company’s drug development programs utilize several cutting-edge approaches, including its industry-leading PEGylation technology platform used to create product candidates with benefits such as reduced dosing frequency and less toxicity. Enzon’s PEGylation technology was used to develop two of its products, Oncaspar and Adagen, and has created a royalty revenue stream from licensing partnerships for other products developed using the technology. Enzon also engages in contract manufacturing for several pharmaceutical companies to broaden the Company’s revenue base. The individual will be responsible for functioning as a member of the site management team and setting direction and priorities for the manufacturing organization; interacting with other departments to prioritize activities which impact production; implementing, maintaining and supporting all corporate policies and procedures; communicating effectively with staff to share operational and company information; maintaining operation in a full state of cGMP compliance by following all relevant Federal, State and local laws and regulations; and continuing to improve the product quality and operations by reducing waste, cost and cycle time. BS in Science or Engineering required; Advanced Degree preferred with 7-10 years of pharmaceutical operations experience with increasing managerial responsibilities. Aseptic/sterile processing or filling experience essential; profit center and/or cost center experience preferred. Excellent organizational and leadership skills, ability to effectively manage change and promote continuous improvement; ability to effectively interact with business partners and outside vendors; skilled problem solving techniques including ability to work closely with peers and departments to identify and solve complex technical, product and production related issues; and ability to use personal computers and modern software programs found in a professional business setting also required.
