The Senior Buyer will be required to utilize expertise in Contract Manufacturing to develop in-depth knowledge of suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, drive supply solutions at third-party manufacturing for existing, new and emerging technologies. Lead the execution of the global contract manufacturing sourcing process from identification, sourcing, negotiation and execution of supply agreement. Strategically use appropriate levers in preparing for negotiations for value gains. Execute financial analysis according to priority and functional business plan, inform Management and Business Partner of market conditions and developments and act as a liaison to global procurement category leads communicating strategies, recommendations and initiatives as appropriate. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for Supplier Management/Innovation. Strategically manage new and existing Contract Manufacturers relationships, with a focus on total cost of ownership and supplier value. Ensure a competitive advantage in overall value, quality, compliance, service and innovation. Facilitate and lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) meetings with Contract Manufacturing suppliers and business partners. Facilitate an effective negotiation process for: external and internal information gathering and analysis; assessment for supplier agreement opportunities; negotiation strategy, planning preparation and execution, and agreement management to maximize benefits. Act as liaison between company legal counsel, supplier legal counsel, and business partners to facilitate the development of commercial terms and conditions, contracts and agreements for the purchase of goods and services. The Sr. Buyer will develop and execute a sourcing strategy that will drive measurable improvements in the areas of customer satisfaction, compliance and cost benefits. Work in support of Corporate and Global Strategic Sourcing initiatives. Coordinate and leverage opportunities with other J&&J partners (Category Procurement, External Manufacturing, Engineering, IM, Sales) and affiliates. Champion the use of eSourcing and other best practices for sourcing events. Further team with local functional business partners, and where applicable, global partners to participate in the development of the business plan relating to supplier utilization. This role will drive continual improvement and business results through use of process excellence, data analysis and driving innovation through the supply base, re-engineer business processes to drive out waste, implement new technologies, and move suppliers to higher value-added positions. Create procurement best practices, and create opportunities for small businesses and diverse suppliers to compete for business. Demonstrate understanding and ownership of the procurement to pay process. Performs other related duties as required. Provide team leadership on projects as applicable. A minimum of a Bachelors Degree or equivalent is required. A minimum of 4 years experience in procurement, contract negotiations and supplier management is required. A minimum of 4 years experience in a consumer industry or related business is preferred. Proven experience with contract negotiating is required. Experience with generating RFI/RFP process is a plus. A self-motivated individual with the ability to anticipate && resolve complex problems independently is required. Effective networking skills and demonstrated leadership capabilities with ability to collaborate with all levels of management and influence decision-making is required. A strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Knowledge of Process Excellence/Six Sigma tools and methodology preferred. Project management experience preferred. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
