Continuous Improvement Engineer - Technical Operations (2007044)
DescriptionReporting to the Technical Operations Continuous Improvement Engineering Group Leader, this position is responsible for providing the technical support function as it relates to incident/deviation investigations and continuous improvement initiatives for all commercialized products at Perrigo facilities within Michigan. The incumbent evaluates product quality through deviation trend analysis, ensuring that products and processes are consistently being produced within their quality attributes. Working closely with management and professional staff in Manufacturing, Packaging, Engineering, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Research and Development, Analytical Development, as well as outside suppliers, vendors, and contract manufacturers, the incumbent will coordinate the investigation and follow-up processes for assigned site(s) using various analytical tools (FMEA analysis, Ishikawa diagrams, etc.). The incumbent prepares investigations and incident reports develops corrective actions as necessary for all product and process issues, and ensures the timely completion of all investigations and corrective actions. The CIE also recommends disposition of all involved product to the Quality Unit. Using analytical tools to evaluate process trends the incumbent will be responsible for developing and recommending process improvements to Manufacturing and Quality. The incumbent also leads project teams that analyze and resolve deteriorating quality trendsRequired SkillsA Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in an engineering or technical discipline, with 1 to 1 ½ years experience in a manufacturing setting, providing investigations and or developing and recommending process improvements. Strong analytical skills are essential with an understanding of statistics strongly recommended. The incumbent must have experience in the interpretation and application of government and industry standards and familiarity with industry regulatory and inspection requirements. Excellent communication skills are essential, including well developed interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively with staff members at all levels of the organization, and strong technical writing skills. Computer literacy is required, with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of SAP or similar company operating systems is helpful. The incumbent must possess sufficient mobility and auditory and visual acuity to enter manufacturing and packaging facilities.
