Position Description:

Contribute to the development and commercialization of consumable reagents for Illumina’s new DNA sequencing platform system. Responsible for supporting manufacturing in transfer of consumables or manufacturing processes into the production group.Job duties include but are not limited to:• Select and qualify external vendors; work closely with internal manufacturing on process improvements and product troubleshooting• Develop QC assays, QC specifications, perform assay validation and optimize formulations of reagent kits• Work with R&D scientists, kit development scientists, marketing, and other operations personnel to transfer new products into manufacturing• Develop and write procedures, BOMs and cost analysesEducation and Experience:• PhD Degree (or BS with demonstrated experience) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field• 5+ years of industry experience commercializing reagent kit products for the life sciences, preferably DNA sequencing or gene expression applications• Experience writing procedures, BOMs and cost analyses is required • Strong molecular biology background preferred• Must have good communication, teamwork and presentation skills
