Clinical Scientist, Medical Science Liaison - Rheumatology (WA, OR, ID, MT) - (Job Number: 0807737) DescriptionCentocor, Inc., a member of Johnson && Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Clinical Scientist - Medical Science Liaison to cover the Pacific Northwest covering Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. This will be a field-based position. Candidate must reside in one of these states and have access to a major airport. At the forefront of monoclonal antibody technology and manufacturing, Centocor, Inc. manufactures products including REMICADE® (infliximab) for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, pediatric Crohn's disease, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis, and ulcerative colitis and ReoPro® (abciximab) for use in percutaneous coronary intervention. Next-generation products are on the horizon and look to continue the company's success in improving the lives of patients around the world. Collectively and through collaborative partnership with Clinical Scientist- Medical Science Liaison executes the franchise CS strategies and tactics. Areas of focus for the Clinical Scientist Team include: Education of opinion leaders and Community physicians on clinical application of Centocor's existing and emerging products by responding to their unsolicited requests for scientific information via 1:1 or group discussions, discussing disease state concept and related treatment options. The Clinical Scientist collaborates with Medical Affairs and Clinical Research in support of Phase II to IV clinical trials, including site identification, assessment, and training of investigators on safety and efficacy of investigational agents. They also provide support to investigator's requests for investigator-initiated studies according to company guidelines and provide scientific support to commercial organizations. Areas of interaction would include sales training, field support, regional/national meetings, and other forums as needed. They will communicate opinion leaders feedback and intelligence to Business and Medical Affairs partners on market environment, promotional and clinical strategies, competition, and other developments relevant to Centocor's commercial and clinical strategies. The Clinical Scientist represents and supports Centocor at scientific meetings including congresses, symposia, advisory boards, and investigator meetings and interprets and reports scientific meeting findings with recommendations for action to relevant Centocor personnel. A minimum of a BA/BS in life science is required; Advanced degree at graduate level strongly preferred e.g., M.S. Ph.D., Pharm D., M.D. is preferred. A minimum of two years of experience within a Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Clinical and/or Academic Research environment is required. Previous experience within the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology industry is preferred. Knowledge of the immunology and/or rheumatology areas is preferred. Experience performing Clinical Research and/or analyzing Clinical Research data is preferred. Experience in presenting/educating, and building relationships with key opinion leaders is preferred. Previous experience in working within a cross-functional team environment is preferred. Previous experience in partnering and/or supporting Sales, Marketing, Clinical Research, Research && Development and Medical Affairs business groups is preferred. Working experience with MS Powerpoint is required. Experience with MS Word, Outlook, Excel is an asset. Position will average between 50% to 60% car and plane travel including overnight stays. A valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record are required.
