Licensed Clinical Molecular Biologist Scientist (CA State CLSp(MB) license preferred)

We currently seek an experienced CA-licensed, Clinical Molecular Biologist Scientist for our expanding molecular analysis laboratory. We perform a number of molecular assays on human blood and bone marrow specimens submitted for diagnosis hematological malignancies including leukemia, lymphoma. A thorough understanding of the principles and practice of modern molecular analysis techniques including quantitative real-time PCR, fluorescent fragment size analysis, automated DNA sequencing, and extraction of DNA/RNA from primary human tissue is required. Experience with development and validation of homebrew molecular assays would be a plus.

Duties include: isolation of DNA and RNA from human blood and bone marrow specimens using manual and automated techniques; quality testing of reagents and maintenance of instruments; set-up of molecular assays and analysis of data; reporting of results to our resident pathologists; and use of our LIS system.

Current CA CLSp(MB) license preferred; ASCP certification preferred. At least two years experience in a clinical molecular analysis lab is required.
