To manage the performance, development and growth of CRA teams. To promote new business by participating in project bids and client presentations as appropriate. To provide clinical consultation to project teams.Parameters:' Comply with employment legislation' Comply with Company policies and procedures relating to employees' Comply with all relevant SOPs and regulatory guidelines' Operate within the departmental budget and in accordance with departmental goals and objectives.Relationships:Reports to: Senior Manager, Clinical OperationsDirectly supervises: Clinical Research AssociatesClinical Research Assistants Records CoordinatorsProvides work direction to: Clinical Research Associates Clinical Research AssistantsRecords CoordinatorsWorks closely with: Directors, Senior Managers and Managers, Clinical OperationsAccount Management, Proposal Development GroupProject ManagementQuality AssuranceWorldwide Regulatory AffairsTraining and Quality Control ManagersMedical Writing and Medical ServicesHuman Resources, Information Systems and FinanceExternal relationships: Client Technical Groups, Third Party VendorsKey Accountabilities:Team Management' Meet and aim to exceed client expectations by recruiting, retaining and developing a skilled, experienced and motivated team of CRAs/CR Assistants.' Manage the performance, development and growth of CRA teams.' Ensure direct reports meet and aim to exceed their personal goals and objectives by developing appropriate orientation/induction, performance review and development plans for all direct reports. ' Maintain an agreed level of productivity/billability and staff turnover.' Maintain a positive, results-oriented work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to the staff in an open, balanced and objective manner.' Complete the formal review processes (e.g. performance and salary reviews) to Corporate standards and timescales.Project Resourcing' Participate in and contribute to Project bids, including client presentations.' Support the Feasibility process (EU-only).' Meet client and business needs to have all projects optimally resourced with suitably experienced CRAs.' Ensure direct reports meet departmental and project productivity and quality metrics.' Appropriately reward and recognize team members.' Produce accurate resourcing plans in conjunction with the Project Management team.' Provide clinical consultation, facilitate clinical metrics collection and develop action plans in conjunction with Director/Project Manager/Primary CRA to keep project on time and within budget. ' Review timesheets and TIMS reports and provide accurate input into monthly reports.' Take appropriate action following regular feedback sessions from client's technical groups. Quality Control/Technical Support' Ensure that ongoing/revised project documentation and correspondence is accurate and complete. ' Support team members to improve their efficiency and effectiveness at prioritizing work and improving performance evidenced by the work produced, client feedback, audit results and QC measures.' Provide technical support to team members to ensure that they have the required knowledge to fulfill their duties.' Quality check CRA visits and Central File documentation taking appropriate remedial action.' Advise Training and QC Managers of individual and departmental training needs.' Revise, implement and monitor departmental compliance with SOPs.Operations Management' Implement process improvements, in conjunction with the Management team and Trainers, in response to client and team feedback and quality audits.' Participate in committees and task force groups as needed. Experience - External: Minimum expertise required:' Minimum of 3 years experience in Clinical Research role' Educated to degree level (biological science, pharmacy or other health related discipline preferred) or equivalent nursing qualification and CRA/PCRA experience.' Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate direct reports. ' Competent in written and oral English.' Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, (including experience in making presentations at conferences, meetings, training sessions).' Team player with outstanding interpersonal, negotiation skills and organizational skills. ' Able to role model behaviors and ethics in line with PAREXEL Mission, Vision and Values.' Flexibility with respect to work assignments, new learning and travel.' IT literate ' Experience with Microsoft based applications and general knowledge of PC functions.' Ability to travel as needed.Physical Requirements: (US Only)' Ability to sit for prolonged periods.' Ability to operate a standard computer keyboard. Minimum expertise required:' Minimum of 3 years experience in Clinical Research role' Educated to degree level (biological science, pharmacy or other health related discipline preferred) or equivalent nursing qualification and CRA/PCRA experience.' Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate direct reports. ' Competent in written and oral English.' Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, (including experience in making presentations at conferences, meetings, training sessions).'
