Capital Analyst, Asset Operations
The position reports to a supervisor within the Asset Operations team which consists of a manager, supervisor, and four analysts. Asset Operations is a critical part of our Sales & Marketing Operations team as this team manages over 24,000 pieces of equipment worth over $14 million. The equipment can include demos, trade-ins, evaluation, display, or rental devices. Equipment can also be placed with customers under a contractual agreement that requires purchase commitment during contract period. The analyst will be primarily responsible for ensuring the movement of all company owned medical devices including ventilators, monitors, blowers, warmers and injectors is properly tracked and recorded within policy and by contract. Key daily responsibilities revolve around protecting Covidien’s considerable investment in devices following policies to issue, monitoring the status, and retrieving these capital assets from the field. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Monitor the input of the various equipment programs into a system for tracking purposes. Assist the Manager, Asset Operations in monitoring the progress of consumable purchases to established commitments and take appropriate actions to bring customers into compliance. 2. Work with the Manager and Supervisor, Asset Operations to develop, implement, and monitor device asset control policies. Ensure monthly reports are distributed to Sales and Marketing management and Asset Operations/Sales & Marketing Operations management to monitor asset utilization. Analyze those accounts requiring action by Management and follow-up as appropriate.3. Approve demonstration and evaluation unit orders based on established policy. Ensure order placed using the appropriate document type which drives financial impact. Issue “on hold” notifications to territory and/or region when evaluation units have passed the return date per policy. Issue Sales Rep Checkout document to Region Manager which identifies serial numbers of demonstration units assigned to the Sales representative. Take appropriate action per policy when notified by Region Manager that equipment is missing.4. Review open RGA’s (Returned Goods Authorization) and follow-up with the respective sales representative. Identify process issues and potential solutions. Escalate issues that cannot be resolved with the sales representative or region manager. 5. Coordinate the tracking and return of competitive devices to be returned under the trade-in program.6. Interface with other departments such as Customer Service and Technical Services/Service Centers to receive/review device movement information and to ensure that policies and procedures are being adequately followed. 7. Assist Manager and Supervisor, Asset Operations, in the coordination and reporting related to physical inventories of equipment assets. Assist in the reconciliation efforts by analyzing differences and following up with the field as necessary and updating the asset records to reflect the physical count. Requirements: Education required/preferred: College Degree. Associates Degree and/or equivelante work experience required; B.A. in Business or Finance preferred.Experience: One to two years experience in accounting or any process involving tracking of units such as serialized product. Property accounting experience is a plus. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Excellent communication skills, ability to follow instructions and written policies. Can address standard issues with limited guidance. Ability to learn and function effectively in multiple systems environments. Ability to effectively balance compliance and policy requirements with the needs/wants of sales and marketing professionals.Skills/Competencies: Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Must be accurate, detailed and organized and able to work with minimal supervision. Attention to detail and an ability to analyze and interpret data from a variety of sources.
