Manufacturing/Production/Operations Relevant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Company: Synerfac Technical Staffing Contact: Timothy Gephart Email: Apply by Email Phone: 302-324-9400 Website: www.synerfac.com CHEMICAL OPERATOR GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB Charges, mixes and controls chemical production safely and to quality standards by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Completes narcotics manufacturing process composed of steps such as getting material from the warehouse, set-up, handling and (un) loading raw materials, processing, drying, sample record keeping and follow-up. Operates machinery, including computer process control equipment, to produce narcotics according to safety and quality standards. Troubleshoots when required.Makes good use of hold period to prepare for subsequent steps.Follows and accurately completes batch logs, SAP transactions and other documentation to produce product efficiently and in compliance with cGMP and standard operating procedures.Records process variations.Maintains a clean and safe work environment by performing housekeeping duties. Inspects components of the production cycle for compliance with standards.ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTSIssues Safe Work and other permits to contractors and Maintenance, as necessary or assigned.Demonstrates flexibility, self-sufficiency and a high degree of competence in an operating area, or proficiency in more than one operating area with minimal supervision.Participates on investigative teams and site group initiatives (e.g. PHAs, PSC, etc.). Assists in training operators.Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements. Understands and responsibly performs duties with attention to quality, safety and environmental matters. Items include; wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, recognizing, reporting and appropriately responding to hazards in the work area (spills/accidents/near misses), maintaining proper housekeeping at all times, properly labeling and storing chemicals, plus all other relevant job requirements. Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including FDA, EPA, OSHA and DEA. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures. Recognizes and reports unsafe conditions and procedures to supervisors.Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by:making suggestions for improvement.assuming acting supervisor position when requested.providing overtime as needed and training co-workers.learning new skills, procedures and processes.preforming other duties as assigned.filling in as supervisor when required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES NoneQUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) chemical or mechanical background preferred; and 18 months site experience and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations and procedure manuals. Write routine reports, operating procedures and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAdd, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and volume.OTHER SKILLS ABILITIES OR QUALIFICATIONS Mechanical knowledge of production equipment and processes.Knowledge of DCS and SAP systems.COMPUTER SKILLSUse computer software applications, both word processing and mathematical, customizing them to meet business needs.Work well with others in a team environment, influencing people in opinions and attitudes.Perform a variety of tasks, paying attention to detail, without a loss of production.Ability to assume acting supervisor position.Train and oversee less experienced operators.
