Neutrogena Corporation is recruiting for a Business Unit Manager - Compounding . This individual will plan, direct and coordinate several production departments within the business unit(s) to produce products at minimum cost, with the highest standards for safety, and consistent with quality specifications and production schedules. This individual will manage day-to-day Manufacturing and Process Engineering, while directing Materials Management. The Business Unit Manager - Compounding will collaborate with other functions within Operations to set goals, objectives and development plans for the Engineers, Planners, QA team and Warehouse Line Service Team assigned to the Business Unit. Responsibilities also include salary administration, budgeting and personnel. The Business Unit Manager - Compounding will be accountable for Neutrogena's policies and applicable laws and regulations, selecting, rewarding, disciplining, training and developing employees. This individual will comply with Neutrogena's policies, procedures, quality standards and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as well as safety and environmental regulations. This individual will also establish operational goals and objectives to achieve Plant and corporate goals, as well as the success of CIP and COGS initiatives. The Business Unit Manager - Compounding will develop capital expense forecasts and budgets to support business needs. This individual will provide variance analysis and corrective actions, implement systems and procedures to ensure machines and equipment meet operational performance and utilization requirements and develop appropriate maintenance plans based on production schedules. This individual will develop capital requirements for improvements and oversee implementation of improvements. The Business Unit Manager - Compounding will coordinate the implementation of new technology and products into the Business Unit in accordance with the Plant OGSM (Objectives, Goals, Sales and Measures) as well as the Operations' OGSM. This individual will partner with Engineering, Facilities, Materials Management, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, Information Management, Marketing and Sales. This individual will implement Signature of Quality (SOQ), Lean Manufacturing and Process Excellence (Six Sigma) methods, ensure regulatory compliance to ISO and QSR requirements and participate in the development and the implementation of transfer plans. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. A degree in math, engineering, computer science, or logistics is preferred. Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with operations concentration is preferred. This candidate will have a minimum of five years of related business experience OR three years of related business experience, with an advanced degree. Experience managing projects is required. Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools, Training and/or Certification is highly preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel is required. People Management experience is required. Experience in the consumer products or healthcare industry is preferred. Experience with SAP is preferred. Experience with Profit and Loss is highly preferred. Experience with high-speed automation assembly equipment is highly preferred. Experience developing and implementing yearly operational and business plans is also highly preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required. Experience with skin care, emulsions, chemicals, and/or preservatives manufacturing is preferred. Experience with Compounding is considered an asset. Strong negotiation and influencing skills are required. Strong analytical abilities are required. This candidate must have oral and written communication skills for presentation to all levels of internal customers and J&&J management. This candidate will be based at Neutrogena in Los Angeles, CA. This position manages individuals over a 24/5 schedule, works primarily 1st Shift, and may be required to work mandatory overtime or weekend work.
