Business Development Manager

Responsibilities:

 

The Business Development Manager will promote and sell services for IRVINE and expand our client base while fostering strong client relationships.  The scope of this effort is to include pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies, medical device manufacturers and new markets where appropriate.  Capture, monitor and analyze the strategies and tactics of competitors that serve to threaten current and future sales of the Company.

Investigate and communicate business development opportunities as indicated by customers in the market place.  Provide input regarding identification and selection of promotional tools for the Company. Such items include trade shows to attend, conferences, brochures, catalogs, direct mail campaigns, etc. Attend national and regional trade shows as required by the Company. Perform all assigned responsibilities within stated budgetary guidelines and policies. Structure sales and marketing group to improve customer focus and increase revenue from current clients and targeted prospects. Coordinate business market research and strategic planning and consolidate into a formal Business Segment Marketing Plan. Provide input regarding identification and selection of promotional tools for the Company. Such items include trade shows to attend, conferences, brochures, catalogs, direct mail campaigns, etc. Develop Sales plans/projections to maximize sales growth and to minimize costs.  Review strategy and objectives, and formulate plans to ensure success. Submit weekly metrics report to management. Responsible for collaborating effectively and mobilizing all appropriate IRVINE resources. Achieve sales budget and performance objectives.  Coordinate with various departments, including AC, AD, QA, Biopharma, Inhalation, Microbiology, Stability and Finance within Irvine Pharmaceutical Services, for the timely implementation of strategies to ensure sales objectives are properly approached and attained.

Requirements:

 

B.S. Degree with 8+ years of experience as an outside sales representing contract testing laboratory services to the pharma/biotech/medical device industry. The successful candidate must have established and track record of successful revenue growth.  This position is for the NORTHWEST territory.
