Blow Fill Seal Engineer

Responsible for the development of work standards for blow fill seal manufacturing equipment.
Investigate, analyze, and propose new or improved methods and systems for cost reduction.
Utilize lean tools to improve performance and support continuous process improvement teams.
Evaluate, propose, and implement process optimization and yield improvement programs.
Provide engineering support to product introduction initiatives that utilize existing processes.
Provide input into the evaluation of new blow fill seal equipment capable of providing improved operation efficiency and reduced downtime.
Analyze root cause of recurring blow fill seal equipment problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
Perform process and equipment validations.
Support production, development, and implementation processes.
Utilize FMEA within process development.
Provide support to Production to facilitate efficient operation, to optimize existing processes, and to ensure Production goals are met.
Monitor performance of equipment, machines, and tools and correct problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming products, low yields, or product quality issues.
Initiate and complete technical activities that lead to new or improved products or processes for current and future programs to meet the strategic goals of the company. Prepare, publish, and present reports of findings.
Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and all other regulatory requirements, in accordance with company policy.
Adhere to company safety requirements.

General requirements :
Experience in a FDA regulated manufacturing facility.
Knowledge of GMP regulations.
Able to mentally visualize and comprehend all aspects of a manufacturing equipment or tooling problem, understand the interrelationships of factors affecting a given situation, and be attentive to detail.
Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovations to solve production problems in a timely manner.
Ability to work effectively with little direction and/or few guidelines.
Proficient communication skills.
Proficient computer skills.

Technical requirements :
Prior experience with the selection and maintenance of blow fill seal manufacturing equipment.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Theory of Constraints, Design of Experiements, Data Analysis, Process FMEA, and SPC preferred.
Knowledge of mechanical principles, machining practices, the properties of metals, and the application of mathematics and dimensions to production machinery and tooling.
Knowledge of modern fabrication and assembly techniques and machine-shop practices and techniques.
