Group Overview
The Cerner Health Analytics team is responsible for data warehouse maintenance and querying, statistical analysis and modeling, clinical research, and providing data and analytical support on a wide variety of projects for Cerner clients. The team is composed of statisticians, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, database programmers, and other analysts, most trained at the graduate level, many with doctoral degrees. Projects vary in scope and complexity, but include work performed for hospital, pharmaceutical, and other healthcare clients. The work environment is fast-paced and challenging, but collegial, and presents many opportunities for learning and professional growth.
Responsibilities
The Researcher plays a key role within the Health Analytics team and is responsible for data extraction from large relational databases, manipulation and analysis of data sets using SAS and other statistical software, working with internal and external clients on their data and analytical needs and effectively communicating in both verbal and written format throughout all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
-Masters degree in biostatistics, statistics or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in clinical and/or health services research, epidemiology
and/or outcomes research and/or survey and claims data analysis
- Demonstrated aptitude for clinical research and data analysis
- Intermediate or higher knowledge of relational databases, and query languages like SQL
- Intermediate level or higher SAS programming experience
- Intermediate knowledge of both traditional statistical methods and modern statistical
methodology (data mining, Bayesian modeling, hierarchical models, propensity scoring)
- Location: Kansas City, MO - preferred or Vienna, VA
