Bioprocessing Associate
CMC ICOS Biologics is a contract development and manufacturing organization (CMO) and is the US division of CMC Biologics, a Danish CMO. The company manufactures protein-based biological drug substance candidates for human clinical trials under contract for biotech and pharmaceutical companies and has plans to move into commercial manufacturing in the near future. CMC ICOS Biologics was created upon the acquisition of the biologics division of the former ICOS Corp., and hence retains many of the experienced staff from the former organization. We are currently seeking high-performance individuals to join this exciting new business.
Job Description and Responsibilities: Perform the following manufacturing operations according to GMP requirements and ICOS approved procedures: Preparation of media and buffers. Cleaning, assembly, disassembly, and operation of equipment. Bioprocessing operations such as filtration, purification, fermentation, and recovery. Routine preventive maintenance and environmental monitoring. New product and process introductions into Manufacturing. Validation support including IQ/OQ/PQ and process validation. Complete required processing documentation including batch production records, discrepancy reports, planned deviations, product change over, etc. Identify, create and revise GMP documentation as required, including batch records and standard operating procedures. Working evening or weekend shifts may be required.
Requirements: 3+ years experience in biopharmaceutical operations experience in either Manufacturing or Process Development. Experience in late stage clinical trial or marketed product manufacturing preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a science related discipline or equivalent work experience strongly preferred.. Algebraic math skills and computer aptitude. Expertise in assembling, disassembling, operating and understanding complex equipment and processes. Experience with typical purification processes including column chromatography (including buffer preparation), tangential flow filtration, ultrafiltration and diafiltration, and viral filtration. Ability to work in a clean room environment with proper aseptic technique a must. Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete assignments that are complex in nature. Detail- oriented with the ability to complete written and verbally assigned tasks following specific procedures. Ability to interact constructively with peers and support groups. Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written forms. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
