We are seeking a Manager level Project Manager to join our Technical and Quality Operations (TQO) group in Rockville, MD.This individual will report directly to the Director of BioProcess Development and will have experience in tactical planning, project management across all involved functional areas, including discovery, assay development, quality assurance and quality control, process development and clinical and commercial manufacturing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·  Develop, manage, communicate and execute detailed project plans that encompass all functional areas in the TQO Department

·  Assess and track resources and milestones for cross-functional projects using project management software

·  Predict bottlenecks and forward timely solutions to avert failure situations

·  Report project progress to mid- and senior-level management

·  Drive the team to achieve clarity on issues and focus on effective contingencies; interface with senior management and influence decision-making on projects.

·  Develop strong logistical skills to manage activities across functions and regions.

·  Communicate at a high technical level with team members to provide them with clear and actionable information to assist them in achieving project goals.  

·  Generate collaboration, cooperation and communication across functions and between team members and ensure that the team achieves stated goals.Minimum Requirements:

·  Degree in a life science required.

·  Minimum of 10 years experience in research and drug development in the pharmaceutical industry, including 5 years as a project manager.

·  Project Management Professional certification with PMI OR other appropriate certification required.

·  Demonstrated leadership skills managing and driving matrix teams.  Management of multiple tasks of varied complexity simultaneously.

·  Good understanding of highly complex biotechnical operations including testing, manufacturing, and quality and regulatory systems.

·  GMP experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.

·  Vaccine expertise is desirable.

·  Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with management, cross functional project teams, subordinates and vendors.  Proactive ability to predict issues and problem solving abilities.

·  Excellent oral, written and organizational skills.

·  Knowledge of Microsoft Project Professional, Excel, PowerPoint & Word desirable.

·  Ability to travel to industry and training meetings in the US and internationally.
