Bioinformatics Entry level Development Scientist
SoftGenetics, the leader in software tools for genetic analysis, is looking for entry level candidated to join our fast growing team. The candidate must have computer, programming experience. Network knowledge is a plus. The candidate must have a degree in computer science and technology or software programming, or preferably bioinformatics. The candidate should be fluent in C++. The candidate must have enthusiasm to talk to customers and to understand their needs.
You will assist in the design of analysis software for next-generation high-throughput sequencing experiments and applications which include de novo genome sequencing, medical resequencing, and gene expression studies. Working closely with our customers, the candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining software for the analysis of the experimental results. You wil identify and automate repetitive infomatics tasks to enhance data retrieva, manipulation, analysis, and to ensure the quality of the experimental resuts. Additional responsibilities include: training customers, interacting on a regular basis with customers and collaboratores to obtain or provide data; development of presentations depicting the results of analyzes; establishment of standard operating procedures and documentation, development and integration of bioinfomatics algorithms; and the application of statistics, visualization and data mining methods. Some experience with statistical analysis is useful as well.
