Billing Coordinator

 

Bioness (www.bioness.com) is searching for an experienced, flexible and detail-oriented Billing Coordinator.  This position is responsible for assisting in the billing of all patient accounts and claims for our durable medical equipment.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates competency in identifying and providing feedback regarding billing needs, recommending and implementing creative solutions to meet those needs consistent with available resources, appropriate procedures, internal controls for new and existing systems and coordinating efforts with other team members and departments.  Monitors insurance denials and follow-up.  Appeals denied claims when applicable.Coordinates contacts with all third party representatives, i.e., Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance Carriers, Managed Care Organizations, and others as required resolving issues related to outstanding claims.  Collaborate with physicians on billing matters.  Daily retrieval and distribution of all insurance related mail.Develops and maintains knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, rules and regulations by monitoring web sites to maintain regulatory compliance throughout areas of risk. Works closely with team regarding Medicare/Medicaid and Managed Care changes/updates. Prepares and pursues collection on delinquent accounts. Able to react to change productively and to perform other essential tasks assigned.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  College course work or a Bachelors degree highly desired.

EXPERIENCE:  Three years related experience in healthcare environment with emphasis on reimbursement and collections of durable medical equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Solid knowledge of billing procedures in healthcare with knowledge of insurance contracts including Medicare/Medicaid regulations, private healthcare insurance carriers, and managed care providers.  Basic knowledge of durable medical equipment billing.Attention to detail and follow through are essential. Ability to plan, prioritize, set goals and multi-task.  Solid oral and written communication skills.  Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet. Knowledge of claims submission software such as CollaborateMD (formerly Claimgear).
