With a deep and broad pipeline of potential new medicines, we continue to advance science to serve patients.Job Summary:The Department of Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism (PKDM) at Amgen, Seattle is seeking an Associate Scientist in bioanalytical support. The successful candidate will support the department by providing operational oversight and ensuring cross-functional compliance. Minimally, the candidate will be expected to: • Own equipment systems• Manage and track work orders for equipment installation, routine maintenance, and repair• Interface between laboratory and facilities/engineering to support instrumentation and utilities• Perform environmental chamber monitoring and reporting• Manage documentation and implementation of change control requests • Review validation documentation and coordinate validation activities with the laboratory• Generate and manage department purchase orders• Provide client voice on information systems and facilities project teams • Support implementation and management of information systems/data management systems and associated procedures• Provide administrative support for applications as needed and process user access requests• Support creation, revision, adoption, and management of SOPs and other controlled documents, as needed• Manage deviation tracking/reporting/follow-up• Support process workflow enhancements (implementation of IT tools, revisions of SOPs, etc)In addition, the candidate will help represent the Seattle PKDM Bioanalytical Group in Amgen Global PKDM departmental and divisional improvement processes, and act as an interface during audits.• An ideal candidate should have a BS/MS with at least 5 years of biopharmaceutical experience with increasing responsibility in regulated activities.• The use of laboratory automation/instrumentation and/or LIMS experience is required. • Proven technical proficiency in Quality Control, GLP / GMP operations• Knowledge of project management skills/techniques is recommended• Finally, he/she must be able to work in a team structure and interface with different research and development departments.
