With a deep and broad pipeline of potential new medicines, we continue to advance science to serve patients.Amgen is seeking a talented Associate Scientist to work in their Chemical Research and Development (CR&D) Medicinal Chemistry organization in their state-of-the-art facility in Cambridge, MA.The successful candidate will be part of an expanding Medicinal Chemistry group, with responsibilities including (but not limited to) the synthesis and purification of novel compounds for potential clinical developmentThe successful candidate will work in a team to develop, implement, and perform organic reactions for ongoing Medicinal Chemistry teams. This individual will contribute to the development of potential drug candidates. The candidate should have an understanding of structural determination using NMR and Mass Spectral techniques with knowledge of purification methods (e.g. HPLC). Additional responsibilities include maintaining laboratory notebook and computer files as well as participating in group and project meetings and attending seminars.Basic Qualifications:- BS Chemistry with an emphasis in Organic Chemistry- Minimum of 2 years experience in Organic ChemistryPreferred Qualifications:- MS in Chemistry with an emphasis in Organic Chemistry- Minimum of 3 years experience in Organic Chemistry- Skilled in analytical techniques including NMR and HPLC - Experience in reviewing analytical data- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced team environment- Demonstrated proficiency with written and verbal skills as well as basic laboratory and computer skills Amgen is the leading human therapeutics company in the biotechnology industry.
