GENEWIZ is seeking Associate Scientists to join our South Plainfield, New Jersey laboratory The ideal candidate must have a BS or MS in biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline. The candidate should be highly organized, independent, self-motivated, and able to multi-task and follow Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) closely. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills are required.



Responsibilities:Carry out DNA sequencing services, including: receipt and organization of samples, preparation of reaction log, setting up reactions, post-reaction preparations, set-up of capillary electrophoresis and related tasks.Prepare sequencing template, including: DNA transformation, preparation and amplification and PCR purification.Perform routine maintenance of DNA sequencers.Be aware of sequence data extraction and analysis procedures.Check inventory and replenish consumable sequencing supplies. Prepare buffers and related solutions. Follow SOPs and guidance of supervisors.Be an effective team-player committed to company goals



Requirements
The position requires the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment. Ideal candidates must be motivated, organized and disciplined with record keeping. Strong oral and verbal communication skills are essential.



Qualifications
BS in biological sciences or related discipline

1+ years of previous lab experience is preferred. Classroom experience and internships will be taken into account.
