SeQual Technologies Inc. was founded in 1991 as a market-driven, technology-based company with the mission to develop, manufacture and market unique products for medical, military, industrial and commercial applications that utilize the Company’s proprietary pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology for air separation.

Since 1998, the Company has focused on the development of medical oxygen concentrators; devices that separate oxygen from air to provide supplemental breathing oxygen to individuals with chronic lung disease.  SeQual’s line of medical oxygen concentrators ranges from its recently introduced, award-winning, Eclipse oxygen system to its Integra® high-capacity (10 liter per minute) bedside unit.

In addition, to medical oxygen systems the Company manufactures other PSA-based, air separation systems for a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications.  POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Associate Quality Engineer is responsible for coordinating the Nonconforming Material Process and working closely with the Receiving Inspection processes in development and release of Inspection Reports (IRs) and inspection processes.  The position will also participate in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities (root cause analysis, supplier audits, change order generation, etc.), and engineering qualification and validation activities working with Quality Engineering. 

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Develop Receiving Inspection tools and Inspection methods.  Train Quality Technicians on inspection techniques

· Disposition Nonconforming Material and monitor the Nonconforming Material process

· Initiate / conduct Corrective and Preventive Actions, including determining root cause, intermediate and final corrective actions

· Assist with Engineering qualification and validation activities

· Conduct internal audits of processes (i.e., quality system, development activity, etc.)

· Conduct supplier audits when needed as part of the Failure Analysis or CAPA process

· Interface with quality, production, materials, and engineering department associates

· Performs other duties as assigned

Core Competencies:

· Understanding of corrective and preventive action, including determining root cause analysis

· Understanding of with electro-mechanical systems

· Understanding of inspection processes and associated tools and methods   

· Understanding of internal audits

· Proficient in written and spoken English communication

· Sound judgment and comprehension skills required TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

· AS degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline required

· ASQ Certification desired

· Demonstrated understanding of electro-mechanical devices is a must

· Experience in FDA regulated industry preferred

· Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, including a demonstrated history of personal initiative, good communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams

· Must be detail oriented and well organized

· Must be a self-motivated, disciplined risk taker and comfortable working in fast growth entrepreneurial environment  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Position is approximately 50% sedentary and 50% walking / standing duties

· Ability to lift 25lbs

· Good hand / eye coordination

· Must have visual acuity necessary to read engineering documents and determine product quality

· Full range of motion in upper body, including simple grasping, fine manipulations, and pushing and pulling

· Occasional travel (approximately 5%) to local and/or international suppliers
