Associate Product Manager

We are seeking 2 Associate Product Managers to support product line to optimize profit; provide education and training; and meet quality standards, financial and planning, and product development objectives. Requires close communication and cooperation with clients, technical sales representatives, and supervisory staff in Operations at all Taconic sites.

One position will provide product management support for either contract research services (CRS), isolator breeding services (IBS), phenotyping, and surgery product lines. The second will provide product management support for contract breeding services (CBS).

Positions may be located at our Albany, NY or Hudson, NY locations

Specific duties include the following:



*Proactive communication with sales force and customer base through training, account visits, and trade shows.

*Respond to product line inquiries from sales force and customer base.

*Establishing pricing strategy and specific product changes on an annual basis.

*Plan and monitor business through forecasting and variance reporting.

*Work closely with operations group to continuously improve of the services.

*Develop and manage marketing campaigns for targeted high-potential portions of the business including: developing tactical, integrated, cross-media marketing campaigns that serve the strategic direction of the product lines; giving direction to Marketing Communications regarding message content, media and vehicle selection, and timing of campaign components; and managing promotional budget for campaigns. Support Taconic’s in-house phenotyping service and its out-sourced phenotyping relationship and develop a long-term strategy for Taconic’s phenotyping service.

Qualifications/Requirements:

*Master’s degree required - PhD preferred - in molecular biology, molecular analysis, genetics, cellular biology, neurology, biochemistry, or related field.

*Desire for a business role in the product management of scientific products and services. *Business experience desirable.

*Strong oral and written communication skills.

*Overnight travel required.
