Associate Director of Sales Organizational Professional Development Programs: My client is one of the world's fastest growing multi-billion pharmaceutical companies, and is located outside of Philadelphia. The company specializes in drugs to treat and manage neurological diseases, sleep disorders, cancer and pain. To balance the risk inherent in drug development, the company pioneered a business model that was new to the biotechnology sector. This balanced risk business model combines acquiring and marketing innovative, high-growth products with strong in-house research and development capabilities. In adopting this model, the company works to build and maintain strong marketing and distribution channels while investing in unique compounds that hold the promise to change the course of human disease. Today, as others begin to adopt elements of this balanced risk business model, my client continues to deliver industry-leading growth. They are building their pipeline while providing significant revenue and ongoing opportunity from the acquisition and sale of late-stage molecules and existing, marketed drugs. I am currently seeking an Associate Director of Sales Organization Professional Development Programs for their Sales Training group. This is a newly created position created to fill a training gap for the organization. TITLE: Associate Director of Sales Organization Professional Development Programs REPORTS TO: Director of Sales Training SALARY: Up to $125,000 - $145,000 base, 18% target bonus (can pay out up to27%) RELO: Yes DIRECT REPORTS: Yes RESPONSIBILITIES: Home office based training position responsible for conducting needs assessments and developing and implementing professional development programs for Sales Management and Sales Representatives, and specialty groups (i.e. NAMs, Area Trainers.). Additionally, in conjunction with Human Resources and Sales Management, develop and implement career pathways for the different levels within the sales organization. You will be responsible for leading the Professional Development Training Team. The ultimate objective for this position is to provide the framework required to stimulate the future development of the company's most valuable resources, its people. Significant interaction with the field sales organization, senior sales management, human resources, legal and compliance to continually identify important and strategic training opportunities. There is also significant interaction with cross functional groups such as medical information, health systems, publications etc. ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: · Provide effective and efficient training to all newly hired and newly promoted personnel to ensure they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their jobs· Develop, implement and manage a professional development program for the sales organization · Collaborate with other departments to insure that training and education initiatives are provided in a logical and comprehensive manner· Deliver new technology and information resources in a manner that promises maximum comprehension and successful implementation· Encourage individual improvement and provide the tools necessary for any employee to seek development that will improve their personal and job performance Career and Management Development· Identify and define key competencies for performance for internal personnel and management· Establish a mentor program that encourages personal and professional growth in an established and supportive development environment · Conduct ongoing performance improvement needs assessments to prioritize critical training and development needs· Develop non-technical training programs and manuals to address key performance improvement initiatives. The initiatives may include:· presentation skills· organization and time management· coaching and counseling skills · leadership skills · recruiting and hiring· behavior based interviewing· performance management· business acumen REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Communication or related field Two plus years successful pharmaceutical sales management experience Three plus years successful pharmaceutical sales management training experience with demonstrated understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design Experience in creating competency models and coursework Experience in creating career ladders Able to succeed in a changing work environment Demonstrated a high degree of proficiency in managing multiple projects Possess excellent oral and written communication abilities with demonstrated skill in making presentations Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills Computer proficiency in Windows environment including Word, Excel and Power Point Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions and help achieve common goals without hierarchy, politics, or self-interest Hands-on, roll-up-your sleeves mentality!
