The Client has identified the need for a ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, PROCESS DEVELOPMENT, ANALYTICAL SERVICES to be responsible for the development of analytical approaches and technologies for the improvement of processes for upstream and downstream process development. The ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, PROCESS DEVELOPMENT, ANALYTICAL SERVICES will: Establish, maintaining and direct an analytical biochemistry team to provide analytical support for upstream and downstream process development. Build and direct a technical support staff who will perform the daily analytical procedures. Interact with new prospective Clients to assist in the identification and transfer of technical information needed to provide analytical support for their projects. Provide technical leadership to project teams during development and technology transfer phases. Identify new or alternative procedures that can expedite project timelines. Serve as Subject Matter Expert in analytical project development and protein biochemistry. Solve extremely complex technical problems associated with these projects. Interface with interdisciplinary team to ensure process/equipment compatibility for scale-up prior to technology transfer. Support marketing activities, including customer presentations and at national scientific meetings. Ensure that all team members comply with safety rules and regulations. The ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, PROCESS DEVELOPMENT, ANALYTICAL SERVICES will have: PhD in Life Science or Engineering. 7-10 years of industry experience, which includes analytical project leadership and protein biochemistry research or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of biopharmaceutical product development, including process development, and scale-up, regulatory and validation requirements. Proven management experience. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Ability to work well with project teams. Ability to work directly with customer representatives and to make presentations to them and to senior management. Ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to solve complex technical problems based on experience, analysis and judgment.
