Associate Director, Outcomes Research - (Job Number: 0804450) DescriptionCentocor Ortho Biotech Services, LLC., a member of Johnson && Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Associate Director, Outcomes Research, located in Horsham, PA. The Associate Director, Outcomes Research, is primarily responsible for study design, generation, analysis, and reporting of outcomes data (comparative clinical, economic, patient-reported) in support of OBI or Centocor product value propositions to payors (private, public, institutional). He/she will identify topics of interest to payors, and develop research proposals, including data sources, potential research partners, and study design. He/she is responsible for implementation, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting for approved projects. The primary focus is the identification and development of observational data, but may also include existing trial literature or the identification of data elements or PRO instruments for inclusion in ongoing clinical trials. Primary outputs include research findings and their development into abstracts, posters, publications, and presentations. The Associate Director will communicate research results at relevant professional meetings and through publication of research in peer-reviewed journals. He/she will also develop training materials on research findings for the Outcomes or Medical Science Liaison field groups and present research findings to internal stakeholders. The Associate Director works closely with the Strategic Customer Group, Sales and Marketing franchise heads, as well as colleagues in Medical Affairs, including Medical Directors, Biometrics, Publications and the Outcomes Field, and the Outcomes Research group itself, to develop strategy and study design. Data generation and analysis are frequently accomplished through the use of external experts and research partners, the data sources or capabilities of which he or she should be knowledgeable in order to ensure appropriateness for the research questions. The Associate Director has project management responsibility for his/her designated therapeutic areas. He/she has no responsibility for management of direct reports, but will direct the work of contract research organizations, spanning proposal development, research design, data sourcing, vendor selection, contracting, project management, compliance and report generation. Travel requirement is international in scope, between 20-30%. Advanced degree (MPH or PhD) required in relevant field(s), including epidemiology, public health or policy, economics, psychometrics, statistics, business, medicine, pharmacy, sciences, or other closely related discipline. Minimum of 3 years of relevant pharmaceutical or medical device industry experience and minimum of 5 years of research experience required. Requires expertise in the healthcare industry, medical and pharmacy reimbursement preferred, technical expertise in economic evaluations or patient reported outcomes preferred, including data analysis and statistics. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and PowerPoint required; statistical software (SAS, SPSS) knowledge preferred.
