We're part of a team that's making a difference in the quality of people's lives.Think What's Possible.The purpose of this position is to provide general legal support to Novartis' OTC (Over the Counter pharmaceutical products) Business Unit. The Associate General Counsel will support significant operations/areas within the Business Unit. This position will be accountable to Novartis Consumer Health Inc. management and employees, including department heads and heads of significant operations/areas of the business both within the U.S. and outside of the U.S. Focus will be on commercial transactions but will also provide general business counseling, including advertising and promotion for OTC drug products, regulatory advice, claims and litigation, employment law and corporate governance. Experience with a broad range of business transactional matters, including counseling, negotiation and document drafting and review for all phases of significant transactions, including license, supply and asset purchase/divestment agreements is a plus. Good working knowledge of antitrust, contracts, UCC, intellectual property, and other relevant commercial areas. Knowledge of consumer health/pharmaceutical business, its objectives and legal ramifications a plus but not required. Expertise representing corporate entities in transactional matters, such as licensing agreements, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and complex and routine commercial agreements is a plus. Other corporate and/or pharmaceuticals legal expertise desirable but not required. Experience reviewing product promotional/advertising materials also a plus.
