The Assistant Tooling Development Technician will: Maintain the Tooling Development area in compliance with ISO/GMP standards and comply with Vistakon Safety and Quality initiatives. Be responsible for adhering to environmental policy and procedures and support department environmental objectives. Produce optical molds using precision diamond turning lathes. Perform metrology on and qualify optical molds. Meet quality and productivity goals established by management. Write and/or update procedures for Design && Tooling. Train team members for the purpose of cross-training. Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment relative to parts fabrication. It is required that candidates have a minimum of a High School Degree or GED equivalent. A minimum 6 months experience in a tooling environment and minimum 6 months CNC lathing/machining experience is required. Interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are required. Ability to work 3:00 to 11:30 pm shift is required. Basic metrology and math proficiency (fractions, basic trigonometry, metric/standard conversions) is required. Minimum 6 months CAD software experience is preferred. Minimum 6 months diamond point-turning experience is preferred. Minimum 12 months experience with interferometric equipment is preferred. Knowledge of Visual Basic programming is preferred.
