This rapidly growing, stable Leader in the Starch & Syrup Industry is searching for a qualified APPLICATION/R&D - PHARMACEUTICAL PROJECT CORRDINATOR at their Chicago, IL location. If you have experience with Research & Development / Application Development with a Pharmaceutical background and experience with Excipients, and a Master's degree in Science...then we’d like to talk with you. The Pharmaceutical Applications/ R&D Project Coordinator will report within the Technology Dept., and be responsible for actively achieving The company’s New Product growth objectives through identification, development and implementation of technical projects across all commercial applications for the Pharmaceutical / Nutraceutical market.  Primary duties for this position include both New Product development and the exploration of new applications for existing strategic The company’s products through execution of key projects; creating and executing against specific milestones to define new product projects; troubleshooting customer problems; and developing solutions with The company’s Sales and Technology groups, based on the company’s product and service capabilities.  Close collaboration with Sales, Technology, Supply Chain, Reliability, Finance and Operations will be required to prioritize, manage and execute defined key projects in order to catalyze growth of new products. A successful candidate will be required quickly to become an expert in the pharmaceutical market and technologies associated with the assigned projects, and will be required to be the primary trainer and facilitator in the respective areas. Excellent communications skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment, both internal and external are required. The position will be based in Keokuk, IA and will have no initial direct customer responsibility, but will have regular direct customer interaction.  Overnight travel (up to 30%) can be expected throughout the NAFTA region. The following requirements and qualifications have been established for this position:o  MS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical / Food Science/Engineering or related field (PhD preferred)o  Previous experience in Pharmaceutical Application / Product Development  o  Demonstrates strong carbohydrate chemistry, advanced organic/inorganic chemistry preferredo  Demonstrates understanding and effective utilization of experimental design and statistical analysis toolso  Demonstrates ability to understand a wide variety of product and process technologies o  Previous direct customer accountability with potential for customer managemento  Demonstrates ability to effectively contribute to the management and/or development of strategic projectso  Demonstrates ability to understand and incorporate market drivers to create “Market Pull” new product initiativeso  Demonstrates strong internal and external communication skillso  Demonstrates outstanding interpersonal skills at all levels of The company’s and customer organizationso  Demonstrates strong presentation skills, with excellent verbal and written skillso  Demonstrates ability to work effectively in team environmento  Demonstrates high-level computer skills, with command of non-routine software programs desired The recruiting process will include a standard interview protocol, which includes multiple interviews with an established team and a formal 20-minute PowerPoint presentation by the candidate.  The successful job applicant will be required to submit to and pass a post offer pre-employment physical, which includes a drug test.   * Reports to:  Pharmaceutical Application Team Leader* Starting Salary Range objective:  Competitive (dependent upon qualifications and experience)* Bonus Group:  18% bonus target group An Equal Opportunity Employer CONTACT: nancy@mrkinston.com MRINetwork, one of the world's largest search and recruitment organizations, has over 1,000 offices in more than 35 countries.
