Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Accountant

JOB SUMMARY

As a member of the finance department the primary responsibility of this position is to manage the day to day activity of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Codes/reviews all vendor invoices to appropriate general ledger account

Review all invoices for accuracy and ensure all necessary documentation is received

Handle all vendor inquires regarding invoices

Review/code all employee expense reimbursement

Monitor/reconcile corporate American Express card, ensure compliance to corporate expense policy

Process weekly check run

Cash collection and application

Research and reconcile open AR ledger transactions

Prepare Statement of Accounts to customers

Assist in projects and audits as needed

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Experience: 2-3 years accounting experience preferably in a biotech or manufacturing environment. 

 

Education: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Understanding of GAAP and exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance 

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word(intermediate level)

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Experience using ERP software(Macola, Great Plains or like software)
